We’re excited to present a refreshed 2026 Awards programme that celebrates learning, sharing, and inspiring across the dementia community. With a streamlined set of 15 awards, we’re recognising excellence across care, innovation, research and lived experience celebrating the dedication, creativity, and compassion that drive real change.

Gala Awards Lunch and Ceremony

Our gala lunch award celebration is rooted in connection and community. Far from the glitz and glamour of typical awards nights, this event fosters a heartfelt atmosphere where stories are shared, achievements are genuinely acknowledged, and people, including those with lived experience, come together to appreciate the work that truly matters. It’s a space for recognising achievement with authenticity—where the focus is on impact and where everyone leaves feeling re-energised and truly valued for the difference they make in the dementia community.

Dementia Active is proud to sponsor the Independent Small Provider Award, a category that reflects the charity’s own beginnings and ongoing commitment to community-led dementia support.

This award celebrates small-scale care and community organisations delivering personalised, values-led support that makes a meaningful difference to people living with dementia and their families.

Judging Criteria

Applicants will be assessed against the following criteria:

Organisations with fewer than 50 staff or volunteers
Clear evidence of personalised, values-driven support with measurable outcomes
Demonstration of innovation or creativity, particularly where resources are limited
Strong community partnerships and positive testimonials from participants or families
Evidence of sustainability, adaptability, and commitment to continuous improvement

Community-focused Care

This category shines a light on the organisations whose scale allows them to deliver deeply personal, community-focused care, often achieving remarkable impact through passion, ingenuity, and close relationships with those they support.
